UX Design

Today I have learnt about user interface and how to map a app together. I used photoshop to design a quick and simple layout for a app called PICADAY, I had to make a range of different user faces for each option. The idea of PicAday is to take a selfie every day, over a period of time you will make a collage and be able to go through them from beginning to end and look at the difference. You will also be able to put all the images together as a video montage. The app allows you to add filters to the images and gives you the option to crop and many other editing options, you will also be able to share with the community and look at other people PicAday accounts or video montages.

I used keynote which is very helpful because it helped me map out my application and how i will divide it up and link the different user faces together.

So as you see this is my basic idea of the main home screen for when you click the app. At the bottom you can see ‘Advert’ which is to bring in that extra bit of money as the application will be free. I kept the theme of the layout very simple because all you will be doing is going onto this app to take your daily picture, so you don’t want it to look to much and and annoying to navigate. Also at the bottom you can see Face, Twitter and Instagram which will allow you to share you SELFIES.

This is the Camera option.

This is the main page as it will be where you take you photos each day.  I kept this page as simple and I possibly could. The very first selfie you take will always appear on the camera screen but the opacity of the picture will be on about 30% so you can line it up perfect with your face for the second day you take a photo. The setting button take you to the editing and filters page and the library takes you to the page of all the photos you have take.

Library option.

As you can see the library will allow you to create project which basically mean the days, so I will use project one for instance every day you take a photo they will build on top of each other and you will be able to scroll through using your finger, the little box at the bottom will flick through the images as you move your finger up and down the project.  I kept camera option in the library page so that you can flick back and forth easier.

Setting options.

This is the setting page which helps you learn about the application. You will also find editing option and filters on this page. You will also find the ‘photo a day’ option here which allows you to give you notification each day also find other option like how regular it will remind you about taking your selfie etc.
At the bottom you will see the Website option which will take you to the apps site to get more information about the app and legal disclaimers.
