Unreal 4 – Collectable Objects

Today I will be go through step by step of how to make collectables in Unreal Engine.
This will be helpful for when you make pick up objects for your game.Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 11.23.32.pngFirst of all you will need to start a new “blueprint class” what this will do is make a node-based interface that can be used to create new types of actors and script level events. Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 11.23.41.pngNext you want to click “Actor” This will allow you to place the object into the word.Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 11.24.21.pngGo to “add Componets” and add Scene, sphere. This will allow you to change the texture of the collectable item. You will then go to add box to allow the time to be picked up.Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 13.41.32.pngOnce you have done your texturing and fit the collectable box around the actor you will then go on to save and exit.Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 13.42.35.pngNext you double tap the character and go to blueprints.Screen Shot 2016-02-02 at 13.50.11.pngOnce you have linked up the blue prints and saved you will be able to add the collectables into the world and collect them.
